FREED is working with Harmony Health to inform you that there are COVID-19 vaccine appointments available this Thursday, March 25, that you can take advantage of.

We are partnering to provide a drive-thru vaccination clinic on Thursday, March 25th, from 9am 11:30am and 1:30pm to 4pm, near FREED’s office at 1100 Butte House Road, Yuba City, in the Yuba-Sutter Mall parking lot off of Butte House Road. Vaccine appointments will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis. The clinic for the second dose will be held on April 22nd from 9am to 4pm at the same location. The vaccine they will be administering is Moderna. Follow the signs and stay in your car and someone will come to you to get you checked in.

Eligibility includes individuals under the age of 65 who are at-risk for complications related to getting COVID-19 and individuals over the age 65. See attached fact sheet. FREED consumers, IHSS consumers, and Regional Center clients are presumed eligible as well as others with certain health conditions and disabilities: 

  • Cancer, current with debilitated or immunocompromised state

  • Chronic kidney disease, stage 4 or above

  • Chronic pulmonary disease, oxygen dependent

  • Down syndrome

  • Immunocompromised state (weakened immune system) from solid organ transplant

  • Pregnancy

  • Sickle cell disease

  • Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies (excludes hypertension)

  • Severe obesity (Body Mass Index ≥ 40 kg/m2)

  • Type 2 diabetes mellitus with hemoglobin A1c level greater than 7.5%

OR if, as a result of a developmental or other significant, high-risk disability, one or more of the following criteria applies:

  • A COVID-19 infection is likely to result in severe life-threatening illness or death; OR

  • Acquiring COVID-19 will limit my ability to receive ongoing care or services vital to my well-being and survival; OR

  • Providing adequate and timely COVID care will be particularly challenging as a result of my disability.

  • Independent Living Center consumer

  • In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) consumer and those who rely on other formal or in-formal caregiving due to a disability or health condition.

  • Alta Regional Center clients

Yuba and Sutter Counties Vaccination Information

Yuba and Sutter County are beginning to move forward into Phase 1B of COVID Vaccine distribution – all residents of Yuba County and Sutter County who are 65 years of age and older are now eligible to schedule an appointment to receive the vaccine.
